Would you like to be able to find a distributor for small press print books closer to home? Well, I' ve been contacting them but making a dent can be a tough job for small press authors with a tiny budget. Here's a way you can help. My list of bookstores whom I have made initial contact with will be listed on my site according to state. Stop in to any one of these stores. If you don't see my books on their shelves, ask them why they don't carry them. To receive a bag of goodies from me, including autographed bookmarks, recipe cards, pens, etc., send me an email at tess@tessmaynard.com including the following information:
1. Your name and address. (for shipping your goodie bag) 2. The name of the bookstore you visited and who you spoke with (including their title). 3. City and state the bookstore is located in. 4. If they carry the book. Great! Let me know. If they don't, tell me what reason they gave for not carrying it.
Of course, if there's a bookstore close to you that is not on this list, you can contact them as well. Note in your email that it isn't on my list and provide me with the rest of the information.
With everyone's help, small press publishers will be recognized for the gift they give to authors in encouraging stories of the heart to be told the way the author envisions--and that readers are eager to find.
This will be a slow and ongoing process for me, so do check back periodically for updates. Here are the links to the lists organized by state:
